List of Harmonisation workshops and conferences

A central activity of the initiative on "Harmonisation within Atmospheric Dispersion Modelling for Regulatory Purposes" is a series of workshops and conferences.

The original series of workshops has evolved to rather large meetings which have become a much appreciated meeting place for model developers and interested model users from throughout the entire world. In view of this, some years ago the meetings changed name from "workshops" to "International Conferences".

Here is a list of the meetings in the "Harmonisation" series. The list provides access to further information about each conference - such as papers presented, and - for some conferences - discussion summaries etc.

• The first workshop took place in May 1992 in Roskilde, Denmark. Its title was "Objectives for Next Generation of Practical Short-Range Atmospheric Dispersion Models". The proceedings from the workshop are now out of print, but information on the workshop outcome and key sections of the proceedings are available here.
• The second workshop took place in August 1993 in Manno, Switzerland. Its title was "Workshop on Intercomparison of Advanced Practical Short-Range Atmospheric Dispersion Models". Information on the papers presented and the workshop outcome is available here.
• The third workshop was held in November 1994 in Mol, Belgium. Its title was "Operational Short-Range Atmospheric Dispersion Models for Environmental Impact Assessments in Europe". Information on the papers presented is available.
• The fourth workshop was held in May 1996 in Oostende, Belgium. It covered a rather broad range of subjects, and was entitled Fourth workshop on "Harmonisation within Atmospheric Dispersion Modelling for Regulatory Purposes". Information on the papers presented is available.
• A small workshop on model evaluation has taken place in September 1997 in Cambridge, England.
• The Fifth International Conference on Harmonisation within Atmospheric Dispersion Modelling for Regulatory Purposes was held in May 1998 at Rhodes, Greece. Information on the papers presented is available.
• The Sixth International Conference on Harmonisation took place in Rouen, France in October 1999.
• The Seventh International Conference took place in Belgirate at Lake Maggiore, Italy, in May 2001. 
• The Eighth International Conference took place in Sofia, Bulgaria on October 14-17, 2002.
• The Ninth International Conference was held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany in June 2004.
• The Tenth International Conference was held in Crete, Greece in October 2005.
• The Eleventh International Conference was held in Cambridge, UK, in July 2007.
• The Twelfth International Conference will be held in Cavtat, Croatia, October 6-9, 2008.
